There’s something incredibly special about a wedding day that feels both deeply rooted and effortlessly intentional, and Alyssa and Garrett’s Columbus, Ohio wedding celebration at Jorgensen Farms Oak Grove was exactly that. Jorgensen Farms Oak Grove is just outside Columbus and is one of Ohio’s most photogenic farm wedding venues. The Oak Grove ceremony space is shaded by mature oak trees, which means soft, flattering light for most of the day, even without much direct sun. The barn and surrounding grounds give couples both indoor and outdoor options if weather turns, and the property’s open fields make for some of the best golden-hour portraits we’ve shot in central Ohio.

On an unusually warm and sunny Friday in late February, surrounded by the quiet beauty of winter in Columbus, Ohio, these two began their next chapter in life together. Although they now live in California, Alyssa’s roots brought them back home, and planning your special day from across the country is no small task, but they trusted their vendor team completely, and every detail came together seamlessly.

A Love That Speaks Clearly

From the very first moment I met them, it was clear that what Alyssa and Garrett share is something rare. There was an ease between them that didn’t need explaining, and throughout the day their connection showed in the smallest ways through soft glances across the room, subtle smiles, and their hands finding each other without hesitation.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was how Garrett honored his father. Though he wasn’t physically present, his memory was deeply felt, and Garret wore his dad’s watch, which was a subtle yet powerful touch.
